So after many months of preparation, the Jonas Peterson workshop happened in Cape Town last week. We had a fantastic mix of people attending from all over the world, Germany, Greece, Japan and of course South Africa.
I have been on many photography workshops and was kind of expecting the same sort of thing – “This is how I shoot/edit/etc and if you want to succeed you should be doing the same”. I could not have been more wrong. What we were exposed to during the two days with Jonas was something pure and uncomplicated. The message was put across so subtly that it took us a little while to understand that where we were looking for answers before was completely off track and then it hit us like a wall of ice cold water. As Jonas weaved us through his journey, we soaked it all up, knowing that it would take a long time after the workshop was over to unpack the details and begin to do things a little differently.
I think to try and communicate the experience in more detail in a simple blog post would be both disrespectful and impossible. All I can say is that if you ever get a chance to attend a Jonas Peterson workshop, grab it with both hands.

The workshop was held at the trendy Grand Daddy hotel – Top class venue and service. We finished off on Wednesday night at Mexican Kitchen on Long st, where we all might have had one-to-many chili tequila’s.
Thanks to everyone who was part of this workshop and to all of the amazing sponsors.
